
Called "Heavenly Hana" probably because it is an Eden on earth. The moist trade winds come ashore here and must climb rapidly to cross the volcano Haleakala. The rapid ascent wrings the moisture out to the clouds and the result is the lush side of Maui. It is a 55 mile road that winds past bridges, waterfalls and spectacular ocean views.
