Again we climb to the top of Haleakala and look down into the crater. In it's crater is the endangered Nene , the Hawaiian state bird, and the silversword plant which blooms once in it's lifetime. Hopefully you will be one of the thousands of visitors each year that will drive to the summit before dawn and the watch the sunrise.
